My name is Lesley Angell and I’m looking forward to welcoming you to Cumbria.
I live in the market town of Penrith located in the beautiful Eden Valley in East Cumbria, I was raised in Windermere in the heart of the Lake District and lived for few years in Ulverston in the South of the county. I have worked in almost every town and village in Cumbria over the years and would love to show you some of the less well known areas and the hidden corners, with their rich history and heritage and share the stories of the people who live and work here now, and those who came before us.
I am happy to guide the whole of Cumbria and my specialist areas are Penrith, Appleby, Kirkby Stephen, Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and the Eden Valley.
My interests are landscape, industrial archaeology, railway heritage, agriculture and the Romans. I also enjoy the literature and arts heritage of the county, particularly William Wordsworth, the great 19th Century English romantic poet.
I will develop a bespoke tour for you for a special interest or to cover a particular area in more depth so come and join me on a town or country (or a bit of both!) walking tour.
I also offer coach tours through our spectacular scenery.
